The Right to Information is a Charter Protected Right
As knowledge is collectively built and communally shared, learning is not passive but participatory and its most characteristic expression is in colloquy rather than deference. “What makes it possible for a totalitarian or any other dictatorship to rule is that people are not informed; how can you have an opinion if you are not informed? If everybody always lies to you, the consequence is not that you believe the lies, but rather that nobody believes anything any longer” (Hannah Arendt).
White Rose Intelligence
Open Knowledge
White Rose Intelligence is a North American research firm that seeks to empower citizens in the defense of their civil liberties and unalienable rights. We harness the power of open source intelligence (OSINT) to gather and analyze facts and data, resulting in actionable information for individuals and advocacy groups alike. Our work is used in both the court of law and the court of public opinion.
Connecting the Dots
In many cases, information on important topics is scattered across many platforms and formats—sometimes behind arbitrary paywalls, or hidden away in portals not indexed by Google. This leaves important knowledge just out of reach of the everyday person, preventing them from making informed decisions about their own well-being.
We work to resolve this by identifying “information gaps” across public platforms and contributing missing information for the benefit of the general public. Our work in this area includes contributing to Wikipedia articles, improving Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and improving the interconnectivity of websites which are disparate, but interrelated.
People’s Academy of International Law
